Tomorrow you say? Bummer.

I pre-ordered Tarja Turunen's new solo album My Winter Storm about two weeks ago at amazon.de and I'm tired of waiting. Never mind that I haven't set up my sound system yet. Never mind that my CD player doesn't work. Never mind that my computer doesn't work, either.

I just want to listen to her exceptional voice. Is that too much to ask? *sigh*

You know, even if they'd parted on friendly terms, I still wouldn't listen to current Nighwish songs. Tarja's voice was what made Nightwish special. The new singer is good at what she's doing, but her voice is unremarkable which makes Nightwish as a band unremarkable.

If you need to rant, you need to rant. Have a go at it, I'd say. You'll feel much better afterwards. :)

Do you have a digital version of that sketch? 'Cause I'd sure love to see it. ^^

It's true that Tarja's voice is what made the band. Many here say that now you can actually hear the music cos you don't focus so much on Tarja's voice. But I don't see that as a good thing. Also, I wonder how the new chick is gonna handle the old songs. Her voice just won't be able to carry those songs. And to me... well, it's also about the lyrics. I mean it's been two years since she was fired from the band... and still the band can't let go of their hostilities. I don't wanna listen to songs that disrespect others and are meant to be open letters about something that really should be dead and buried by now.

I'll have to post about it all once I get home. ;)

I don't have it in a digital version but once I find it (I know it's in one of my folders), I'll ask a friend of mine to scan it.

To me, Nightwish is dead though not necessarily because of how they split (I still don't know the whole story). I just don't like the new singer's voice, so I don't even wonder how she's gonna handle the old songs. If I want to listen to those, I dig out my albums.

I'm looking forward to your post. And I'm also looking forward to seeing your sketch. Me, I suck at sketching most of the time, but I do like to see the work of others. :)

Heh. I suck at sketching most of the time too, but sometimes I do okay. Like with the Kate Mulgrew one I drew a few years ago... And I think Tarja came out okay, too. :)

A couple of years back I did a sketch of my little sister. She was sitting on her bed, half turned away from me. Wasn't even a profile sketch, which might explain why it turned out beautifully. That, however, is a very rare occurrence. Normally, I simply do suck at sketching. :D

Wow, it's a great sketch! :)

I'll go look for mine when I get home. I hope I still have it, it really has been years and years, and when I moved I got rid of some old stuff. I hope it wasn't among those things. There certainly isn't a digital version as of yet.
