Are you supposed to have gray hairs at 26?

I know someone who was largely white by the time they were 25, and their mother was completely white by 20. It's just genetics.

I know it's genetics, and I know I've got that particular gene from my dad. He's been gray for as long as I can remember.

Luckily, I don't have to accept it. Let there be dye! :)

So did I. Well, one to be precise, and I'd have been to happy to leave it at that.

I'm 25 and I've had a few. I know people around our age who've got far more than that. Bring on the hair dye *g*

*nod* found my first one at 16. Don't you love parents with prematurely grey hair? (yay for chemicals to avoid this however!*G* *highlights mind* Unique side benefit btw, I can go longer without having to update my highlights. People mistake the white/grey for blonde *G*)

The boyfriend mistook my gray hairs for highlights, too. I informed him that I haven't updated them in over a year. *lol*

My grandmother started graying at 21 or 22, Mom at 24 or 25. I'm about to turn 24 and won't be the least surprised at any point from now on if I should start finding them . . . although I'm really dreading that day (damn dark hair . . . not so easy to hide).

I'm hoping that I'll manage to make it a little bit longer than them, though, as I think I don't tend to stress out over every little thing that happens, which was and is a common thing for them both, respectively. Maybe being more laid back will by me some time. That or maybe my hair gene came from my father's side where they at least all made it into their thirties before reaching for the hair dye!

If stress really factors into this, I blame my gray hair on Voyager fandom. I noticed the first gray back in 2000 when things became really wanky among JetCers. ;)

To be perfectly honest, I didn't even know you started dyeing your hair. When did that happen?

This is why Miss Clarol is my very, very close friend. We go way back her and I. Practically like sisters.

LOL

I can't believe how many people seem to get gray at an early again. I mean, geez, how come?

I figure anyone whose grey hairs are spread evenly through their hair is lucky, no matter how old when they get them! I've had some for years, but annoyingly they're pretty much concentrated in one spot. If I part my hair in the wrong place they're damn obvious! They're even lighter than the others when dyed, but at least they look more like a highlight then, lol

Dye. The greatest invention of mankind. Hee! :)

Though when my hair isn't dyed, it's basically all over the place, color-wise. I've got some blond as well as black, brunette, and red hairs. Mostly redish brunette, though.
