Don't you just hate it when you own a book collection made up of paperbacks and the latest addition is available as hardcover only?

I was going to order "Devil May Cry" by Sherrilyn Kenyon, but amazon.de only lists it as hardcover. There's not even a mention of a paperback version. So I went to amazon.com and actually found the paperback – which is going to be released on April 1, 2008.

But it gets even better than this. The book after "Devil May Cry" will be released on October 30, 2007. As paperback.

*headdesk*

Which is why I nearly always resist buying hardcovers - that and the fact that they're usually more than twice as much. Except for my very favourite authors, I just stay away from them.

Though what you mention is bizarre. How can the next book come out in paperback before the previous one is available in that format?? *scratches head*

I can count the number of hardcovers I own on one hand. Mainly because they're too expensive and vary in size, at that. Looks odd on my bookshelf.

It's not only bizarre, it's frustrating as hell. It's my second favorite book series and it usually needs to be read in order. So what do I do now? Read these two out of order or wait until April 1, 2008? *le sigh*

P.S. Nice of you to show up again even if it's just for a little while. :) I do hope life is good if busy.

I have a lot more hardcovers than that, because I guess I've picked up a few that have been marked down. Or I just plan couldn't wait for the paperback to come out - though for the most part I'm just not into any series enough to *need* to buy the hardcover as soon as it's available. Anything by Matthew Reilly is an exception though, as his books are just plain crack. (And cracktastic too, given how much it seems like he writes them on speed!)

But mostly, I stay away from them. :)

And I'm around, though mostly I just read. Don't post much as I can't seem to get my thoughts together on anything interesting.

Really rather good for your wallet I'd imagine. :) Mostly, I find hardcovers to be insanely expensive.

Where does is say that posts have to be interesting? If that were a requirement, I could go and delete 2/3 of my journal. ^^

Oh honey trust me it is worth it.
My best friend and I got them the day they came out and had a reading party. We finished it in 5 hours.

I love Dark Hunters and her Kinley MacGregor stuff.

I can't wait for Ash's books next year. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE

Damn. I knew I was going to have to buy the hardcover, but this just confirms it. I love the Dark Hunters to pieces anyway. :)

And Ash's book? I try not to think about it because I SO want to read it. I just might die of anticipation if I keep thinking about it. *lol*

Say, have you ever heard of or even read one of J.R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood? They have me drooling just as much.

Yes. Though the good news is, I'm going to get the hardcover (b-day gift for myself) and you can borrow it when I'm through. If you want. :)

OMG! Cheile!!! It's been years! How the hell have you been? Man, I keep meeting old friends left and right. Puts an insane grin on my face every damn time. *G*

Personally, I'm addicted to the Dark Hunter novels as much as I'm addicted to the Black Dagger Brotherhood novels. It's vampires, myth, and sex. What more do I need? *lol*

I'm adding you as soon as I've posted this comment. :D

I know busy. In fact, busy and I are on a first name basis. :D

Right now, I don't have Internet access at home. I've recently moved halfway across Germany, and I don't have Internet access at home yet (I'm at work right now). When I do, I'll resurrect MSN and/or AIM 'cause I've been threatened with bodily harm if I don't. ;)
