One of those nights

Do you ever feel like doing at least two vastly different things at the same time? I do, and I consider myself lucky when it's only two things like tonight.

I'm torn between writing and reading. The problem with both options is, I don't know what I want to write or read about, respectively. Never mind that if I had any sense left, I'd be sleeping instead of pondering this not very life-altering dilemma.

But I can't shake the feeling that I should be doing one or the other. It's really rather frustrating. I just know that if I sit down to write - no matter what, just write - I'll end up itching to grab one of the books on my book list. By the same token, if I go for a book, I'll probably have Word started before I hit page ten.

And I only ever seem to have this problem when I've actually got time on my hands.

*headdesk*

Since you gave me your cold (thanks ever so much for that)I can't write.

I have a solution for you. Pick up a book and boot up Word at the same time. Then you can do whatever strikes you at that very moment.

You're so very welcome. 8) (Hope you'll feel better soon!)

Your solution would be much too easy; I've tried that before, and it didn't work because I can't concentrate on one or the other. In the end, I opted to go to bed, and I believe it wasn't the worst choice I could have made.

Well, I know this problem as well as the back of my hand (after all I AM crazy) but never in the early hours of the morning though. *lol* So what did you decide to do and why do I hope you'll say writing?

For reasons that elude me, I was quite awake up until 2 am. Of course, today I'm not even remotely energized, but that's life.

In the end, I just went to bed. Even if I had actually wrote something, it probably would have been practice work which no one else would ever have seen.
